DALLAS NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHER
There’s no better place for your Dallas newborn photography session to take place than in the comfort and safety of your own home. Often clients worry that their home isn’t ideal for their session because it hasn’t been staged by a designer or there are toys scattered on the floor. Let me be the first to remind you that what makes your house a home is your family living inside and all of the wonderful memories you are making in it.
By taking a lifestyle approach to your session, it allows me to capture the most raw and authentic moments of those first few weeks of your little ones life. In order to serve you and your family the best, I take a limited number of Dallas newborn sessions each month.
Celebrating the miracle of new life by entrusting me to photograph your precious new little one that’s fearfully and wonderfully made is not something I take lightly.
“Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.” Psalm 127:3
WHAT TO EXPECT
Unlike a lot of Dallas newborn photographers, the majority of my sessions take place around 4-8 weeks postpartum, with 6 weeks being a sweet spot. This takes the pressure off you as a mom to try to “have it all together” just days after giving birth. Aside from feeling better, your little one is typically on a better & more predictable schedule, is looking more like themselves, and older siblings will have had time to adjust. All of these reasons allow you to feel more comfortable in your own skin and know just what you need to do to make your little one happy.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where will our Dallas newborn photography session take place?
Each session takes place in the comfort of your own home. If you’d prefer a simple all white studio, I am happy to reserve an indoor all white studio for you for an additional $85/hr. A travel fee will be applied if your home is 20 miles or more from my home address.
What if my house doesn’t look like the beautiful, put together homes I see online?
The special thing about your home is that it’s yours. A beautiful home doesn’t make a picture, but rather the people inside it. Your home is a place of safety and security. It’s where family dinners take place, bedtime stories are read, giggles in the bathtub are heard, family movie nights happen, and love is shared.
What age is best to photograph my newborn?
The majority of my clients prefer to do their session 4-8 weeks after birth with 6 weeks being a sweet spot. While I am happy to do your session within the first two weeks, I strongly encourage moms to consider the latter option as it gives them the opportunity to feel better in their own skin, allow baby to settle into a routine, give time for siblings to adjust, and let your sweet baby fill out to look more like him/her.
Do you photograph newborns during the week or weekend?
Dallas newborn sessions are scheduled during the weekday during the morning or lunchtime/early afternoon depending on the day.
Is the session exclusive to just my newborn only?
No, as a Dallas newborn photographer I love to include the whole (immediate family).
What should we wear?
Simplicity is key. I don’t want anything to distract or take away from the beautiful new baby in your arms. For baby I suggest skipping an outfit and having them swaddled the whole time. For older siblings, I suggest wearing a very traditional smocked dress (girls) or john johns (boys). I will help as much or as little as you want. To better serve you, I’ll send you a personalized curated styling board with direct links. On top of that, I’ll also send a styling guide and other recommended stores for you to browse from for each family member. I will also provide you with more specific details about what to wear and what to avoid when making your selections.
When will my images be ready?
Your images are culled and soft proofed by me prior to making your final selections. Your gallery will be ready to make your selections within three weeks of your session date. From there, you will have two weeks to select and finalize your images. If you need your images sooner, a rush fee of $150 can be added to receive them in one week.
Are albums as well as fine art products & prints available for purchase after my session?
After your session you will have the ability to conveniently print your images directly from your gallery through my professional lab so that you do not compromise the quality of your images. I also offer complimentary & custom mock ups for your home. I carry a line of frames I’ve hand selected to help you with custom pieces.
Am I able to print the images myself?
Yes. You have the ability to do so using my print release; however, I cannot guarantee the quality of your images. The majority of my clients print professionally through me to ensure the highest quality of prints.
What do I need to do book my Dallas newborn photography session?
A signed contract and $300 nonrefundable retainer (which is applied to your total session cost) are required to book your session date.
